Over New Year's, when I was visiting some friends in New York, we went to this awesome Irish Pub in Astoria. Our waitress there was really cute and had an adorable Irish accent.

I just found out she's a model on Project Runway.

I wonder how much closer this brings me to Kevin Bacon.

Popular Science's complete archives, dating back to 1872 when it was just a text newsletter, are now online, readable, searchable, and completely free. Some of the artwork is so freakin' cool. And all the original advertisements are included and everything.

You can search the archives by keyword on their website, or you can search through all the covers on Google Books.

There is some serious artistic inspiration to be found here.

I got home from work a little while ago to find this awesome drawing in my mailbox! It's a horned elephant creature thing riding a fixie! It got slightly bent because my mailman is an asshole and shoves large envelopes in our very small mailbox, but it'll be fine once I get a frame for it.
